Vertically Hinged Lathe Guard PT with Gas Spring
The lathe guard PT gives you flexible protection for your safety and, thanks to the large viewing windows, you always have your workpiece in view. You can optimally position this protective cover thanks to the height and length adjustable arm and the gas spring.
The PT protects the lathe operator from contact with the rotating chuck. In addition, hot chips, oil, coolant or any other type of flying parts are also repelled.
The robust steel construction and the impact-resistant, transparent protective screen made of a particularly high-quality plastic are resistant to mechanical and chemical influences. In addition, the protective device has a safety microswitch for additional safety. When the locked protective cover moves, the microswitch opens and sends a stop signal to the machine control. This prevents the machine from running when the screen is open.
For the selection of the optimum size of the lathe chuck guard, please also consider the dimension of any protruding clamping jaws. We also recommend a safety distance of approx. 100 mm.
Calculation example: Spindle diameter 250 mm plus length of protruding clamping jaws of 50 mm (this time two times: left/right), plus safety distance 100 mm = 450 mm = PT450
